Todd, one of my work buddies stopped by tonight. Now, he's not into herpetology or anything like that. Sure, when I show him my reptiles/frogs/enclosures, he'll say "those are pretty neat", or something along those lines.
Well tonight, I say to him, "watch this". I turned the Jungle Dawn...
If you don't wanna build one yourself, the 24x24x48 Reptibreeze is a good choice. And then put it on a stand/table to make it sit higher off the ground...

I wanted a light for my Red Eyed Tree Frog enclosure to help with the live plants. I saw this on Lightyourreptiles.com and gave Todd a call to get more info on it.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Todd is...
Hi all, I'm looking for a new dry gutload. I've heard mention of both of these, and am curious what one you prefer, and why?
Also, are there links to where I can order these? I'm not having any luck finding them.
Thanks!
You really can't do much better than this setup. WAY better than Reptisuns. Plus they last a year, whereas the others last 6 months before they need replacing.
Also comes with a 6.5k bulb, which helps with live plants. The fixture itself is heavy duty, and it's 24" long, so it fits perfect...
I'll clean them out tomorrow, but like I said, I'm not doing anything different and I never had any problems before. I have no fruit in there, just carrots and collard/mustard greens.
And no jerky motion...what do you mean by that? Lol..
I found a nice end table on Craigslist. Top measured 24x24. Cage fit perfectly on it. I then cut a hole in the center (with a hole saw) and put bucket down below for drainage.
*edit* somebody beat me by a few minutes.
I've never had this issue before. But now all of a sudden, whenever I open up my roach or cricket tubs, knats come flying out.
Heck, just two days ago I bought 2 dozen crickets for my red eyed tree frogs. I put these in a Kritter Keeper (I have a Rubbermaid tub when I get a bulk of crickets...
Also, this is a great setup. Has a very good UVB bulb (also lasts a year) as well as 6.5K bulb, which helps keep the plant alive.

I have a huge schefflera plant in my enclosure (along with tons of branches going vertically and horizontally). Just re-pot it in another pot with organic soil like the previous poster said.
This is a schefflera
First off, you're wasting a ton of money buying "basking bulbs" from pet stores. You can buy a regular soft white house hold bulb for the fraction of the price. The wattage depends on your temps, obviously.
As far as knowing when a UVB bulb goes bad, I think most will use a solar meter to...
