I used the clear plastic insulation that you shrink with a hair dryer. It worked really well. Could not even tell it was on there. I just used the double stick tape on the frame of the cage, stuck the plastic up and hit it with the hair dryer. Easy and quick.
I would add more horizontal branches near the top of the cage and a little more foliage around those as well. Also make sure there are no sharp edges from the screening. I think I see that the bottom of your cage is also screen. You will need some type of drainage set-up underneath or you...
Check out those videos and links from Jannb's post above. They are excellent and will answer all your questions. Do try to post a pick of the back feet heel area. You may not need a bin at all!
I just turned off one of CJ's basking lights, his temp yesterday was 87F and today 83F and the afternoon sun hits the corner of my house in which the cage is kept. The humidity has been awful too. I try to avoid using AC and it is not usually a problem because I have a pool (but that is not...
I hate ficus. I mean they are gorgeous trees but soooooooo finicky. I have killed several! No matter what I try they always drop all of their leaves until they are dead! I got a schefflera and hibiscus in CJ's tank. I just order some of the ledges that are offered on the Dragon Strand site...
It is hard to tell if it is a female or male without a picture of the back feet. Just looking at your avatar I am inclined to say it is a female. I believe there is information under the care resources for about laying bins. I never had a female but based on what I have read in the past coco...
There is a forum member who is also a carnivorous plant keeper. If I remember correctly they do keep them in with their chams. Unfortunately I cannot remember their name. If you do a search for carnivorous plants you may be able to find the thread.
They set up all their habitats the same identical way and the set up is designed by a supposed veterinarian. The design is mandated by their corporate office. It has been a long standing sore subject on these forums. I am not sure anything can be done by anyone on the local level, so I really...
I ordered a similar set up well over a year ago and even back then it took longer than I would have liked to get it but I am very happy with it. I have seen on several threads that the owner has been having health problems and many have experienced delays getting their orders. A few folks said...
Many of the cruciferous vegetables can interfere with calcium metabolism if fed excessively to reptiles. I was unaware that feeding these foods to insects as a gutload would have the same effect. I really hate the smell of hornworm poop when they eat commercial chow. I found a recipe for...
I like the Valspar ads too. And as far as movie chameleons the ones in Tangled are far better than in the movie Rango. That one is just plain creepy. I couldn't even watch the movie because it just looked so wrong!
Hi Everyone; so here is a photo of my new chameleon. I want to thank Laurie and Bob so much for helping me out! It is greatly appreciated.
His name is Castiel Jayne (based on Supernatural and Firefly, favorite characters of my granddaughter & son). I am calling him CJ; hope the picture comes...
Thanks for the information. I did not press either of them because I got it set and it is working. I sort of remember the R button being something I should not touch!
So I am setting up the timer for the aquazamp seconds timer and of course I do not have the written instructions. Can anyone tell me what the button with the pointy finger is for and also the little R button next to it? Thanks!
I thought about this for my veiled after he got a big burn on his back but decided against it. I thought that in the environment of the cage with the automatic misting etc, the bandaid or whatever covering is applied, would only get wet and gross which could support bacterial growth; so I just...
