I have gotten more votes for male than female (posted the same pics under photography the other day) So i will just say a Male with possibly a small package... I do know that he is just about 3 months old as well (just got an email with approx age) :)
I have another thread going on the Chameleon Identification section... like i said the pics there sucked (and when I added the recent ones, no one has been replying to that thread). I tried to give the baby time before i got pics out of (s)he out of the cage... but thats what I did today. I have...
I was a bit of a dummy myself. I started looking at chameleons and my husband and I narrowed it down to wanting a panther (due to the pattern and colors) later on I realized that the females didnt get the coloring like a male would. I got caught up in looking at all the kinds of chameleons...
I really do not know... it arrived from lllreptile last Thursday. Someone suggested 10 weeks or so. I wish I knew! I dont even know if its female or male either! lol At rest in the enclosure its pretty much brown/light brown. It was nice to see some color.
I am sure (s)he is mad at me... I definitely saw more colors than my camera picked up. Too bad the ones of (s)he in the sun were too washed out looking. I noticed the neck area turns red (as in these pics) when eating too.
I use a quad T5 (6500k) for my plants... but that is for plants only... not sure if thats going to be too bright for your enclosure. I guess you just have to try it and see how it goes.
I have not been handling the baby much... 2x since she/he arrived on friday... I hope these two pics are good enough for an ID. If not, then I will just wait and see. lol BTW the baby shed its skin today.
My baby just shed some skin today... I saw what looked to be really dry spots on the tail... went out and came back about 3 hrs later and its whole body was peeling. My baby managed to get it all off pretty quickly. It was interesting since this is my first chameleon and all.
I will just move the mirror to the den or something since I have 2 windows near the mirror that I would like to move the chameleon enclosure closer to later on. I had to rearrange my whole bedroom (with the exception of the dresser/tv) to make room for the enclosure hehehehe. My husband was...
I know its bed time for my baby when I see him/her around that leaf. Him/her definitely likes that spot (which is actually low in the enclosure). By the morning, it looks like he/she lost her grip a little, or slid down the leaf just slightly and one leg is normally not gripping anything. LOL...
Hello. I was reading a review for a prepackaged vine/silk plant similar to ones found in pet stores or anywhere you can buy reptile items. I saw a comment about going to a craft store and making your own vines/plants with silk flowers there for less price. If I make a trip to a craft store in...
Hi there. I have a full length mirror about 10 feet away from my cham and enclosure. Should I get rid of this mirror because I know their eyesight is very good.
I will get pics tomorrow out of the cage...
So the pastel looking peach and lighter brown make it seem to be a female? Is that what. people mean when they say the colors look to be female... So males will have more dark colors at this age? A newb like me sees that it displays many colors...
