Clear cups and for some reason red cups or anything red can make some Chameleon's really stressed and puff up. Not really sure what it is about the red but a few people on here have had problems with it with their Cham's. I'm sure other Cham owners experience the same thing with certain colors...
The reptarium's are o-k but your best bet would be to go with an aluminum cage from LLLReptile. Chameleon's need good ventilation and the reptarium's, as cool and inexpensive as they do look do no provide as much ventilation and see through as the aluminum cages. DO NOT!! Put any other animals...
I think in most situations, especially one's like these. It's always best to use a little common sense ;) But then again i guess the problem with that is common sense isn't so common. In that case you might want to stop breathing in your room mates habit.
After googling this for about 10 Minutes It looks like you are going to pay at least $100 bare minimum for a decent UVB reader sadly. There is probably one out there for cheaper if you do enough looking around but for a decent one It looks like these babies range from $120-$200 and more.
I would seriously do that to my room but my parents would probably kill me. lol. But this is the setup I would like to do in my house but I've always wanted to add a retractable ceiling on hydraulics so I could open it up whenever I want to let the sunlight in on a good day :) Your setup looks...
What kind of setup do you have to keep those things from all flying away as soon as you open the lid? I think house flies would be great but maintaining them can't be much fun, or is it?
Well every male gets excited about seeing a good looking chick, well, pretty much all the time. lol. The look but don't touch may work for most of us but Cham's probably don't understand that very much. After a while, and with the ability to be able to see her, he's going to get angry that he...
I think he just looks really upset at seeing that Camera, they both do, lol. Nico is that the same Veiled that attacked your roomies cam lens and took a chunk out of it?
I wouldn't think so, no. But my biggest question is. What do you do for the drainage problems, how do you clean those darn things? Auto misting for 15 minutes, 3 times a day. Dang that's a lot of water. lol. Btw, even without the pictures, just imagining the setup, it sounds AWESOME!!! I can't...
I would agree with Ken's assessment on the issue. Especially since the changed happen so quickly and the fact that he threw up what he last ate. Monitor your other Chameleon's as you are probably feeding them from the same supply that got your ambilobe sick. Try switching up his diet and see if...
Mine isn't on there, I use 1366 x 768 only because I have a 32" LCD HDTV for my computer monitor and that is the only resolution you can get with a 32" TV. It all depends on the monitor and size but for a good gaming computer I wouldn't go anything less than 1024X768 :D
Don't get the coil bulb at all, they are no good. Go with either the Reptisun 5.0 or 10.0 depending on whether you have a reptarium or an aluminum cage. The 5.0 is probably the best bed to go with on a baby Cham but stay away from any coiled tube lighting. For the basking bulb get an...
What do you guys do with 30-40 or more Chameleon's that hatch, especially if you don't have the setup for it and where do u put them? I know it may sound like a dumb question but I look at what it takes to keep just 1 Chameleon and give it the love and attention it needs to thrive. I couldn't...
Yeah I've heard that the zippers are not much fun and I have the worst luck when it comes to zippers so eventually I'll prob get a good aluminum cage. I'm still in the process of getting all the equipment and materials together and still want to do a bit more research as this will be my first...
So are you saying the cages that reptilesupply.com sale are no good for housing Chameleon's? I recently ordered one of these, which is the same encloser that Buba636 is using, so It would be good to know so I can cancel the order.
Kevin.
Well I think we all kinda get the same way during the winter time. I know as far as I go, during the winter time it takes me a heck of a lot longer to wake up and i can't wait to go to bed. hehe. Maybe the winter is having an affect on the little guy's as well. When things start warming up i'll...
Thx for the advice Brad, I'm glad I didn't order any of those. I understand you should only dust the crickets no more than twice a week at the most with a caclium D3 supplement. What feeder should or shouldn't you dust so that I'm not confused on the subject as I read on your site that Crickets...
