What kind of light fixtures are you guys using?

This is the one I got for my Reptisun 5.0 18" tube and it works great. This one has no plastic cover or anything that needs to be removed. Just put the light in and you are good to go. https://www.petmountain.com/show_product/518113

    mistking system brought

You are going to love it. It was the best purchase for my Chams as of yet. Make sure and post up pics when you get it set up. Also one tip make sure and secure down parts of the hose as the rattling can get a little annoying but securing then down will keep it from rattling. I also got the...

New to Chams and looking for some input

Its generally not a good idea to have a light pointing at the front. The idea is you want the top to have the basking temp and then the temps to drop as it gets lower in the cage. This way your Cham can bask and then if he gets too hot he can move to other cooler areas in the cage. I am not...

New to Chams and looking for some input

Hi and welcome to the forums. The cage looks really good but you will want to put more vertical branches up higher to give him more highways to walk around. You really do not want branches down low like you have as they need to be up higher as they are arboreal. You also want one closer up...

How long can I leave my cham unattended?

I agree you for sure need a misting system. I have the MistKing and absolutely love it. The more things you have automated the better. For example you could have the mistking spray in your dripper somehow therefore providing water with both mistings and dripper. There is a great post on a...

How Young, is too young, for outdoors?

Having him outside is actually so much better for him than being inside. Of course you need to constantly monitor the temps and make sure his basking temp is not more than what it should. Also you will want to make sure that part of the cage is always in shade. I was given some number's by...

Mistking pump not working!!?? Please help.

Is the pump even coming on at all? It could just be the Power adapter if its not even coming on at all and you can just get one at a local hardware store. Put a tester on the Adapter to check for power.

Comment by 'SpartyTessy' in 'DIY Rain Dome'

Wow very cool idea I really like it. After seeing this and the Hobo Raindome post I am going to fab something up to where my Mistking goes into my Big Dripper's to provide a constant water drip instead of having to fill up the Drippers separately. Great Blog

    How are Reptibreeze aluminum cages?

I have had my two Reptibreezes for 3 months now and have not had any rust issues. And they get soaked everyday from my MistKing.

    distilled water?

I tell you since I got my RO system it has saved a ton of $$ and headache. I do not know how I functioned without it. Thanks to Wykd he recommended this one I got and I absolutely love it. You can hook it up indoors or outdoors. And it automatically shuts off when you have the desired amount...

How many use Flukers Cricket Quencher Calcium Fortified

I was just wondering how many of you use this stuff for your feeders and how good it actually is. I know you do not always need to use it if you are gutloading them with food with plenty of water but I still like to use it especially since I breed them to always make sure they have some kind of...

    Oriental Roaches help

Yeah I am not sure what kind they are but I looked up the picture and compared it to the list of the wild roaches in Hawaii. I am sure they were brought over with settlers. If you have more information on then that would be great.

    Oriental Roaches help

Thats good to know that they are parthenogenic. Yeah I saw that they can easily climb smooth surfaces as when I caught then in the plastic cup they were easily climbing up to the top. I just want another feeder option and no way will I breed the crazy american roach. Do you happen to have a...

Lost another baby :( What's going on?? This was him about half an hour prior...

He has a screen cage for them but outside even in the shade here has been quite warm. Babies are especially delicate when it comes to heat. Oh and he is located here in Hawaii.

How long does it take to start breeding feeders ?

If you are looking at breeding crickets it takes no time at all. Just leave a thing of dirt in the adult bin for them to lay the eggs. Leave it in for about 4 days then take it out and put it in another container. Keeping the dirt moist and temperature between 85 to 90 with a heating pad...

    Oriental Roaches help

Hawaii is very strict on what they will allow imported and I have tried many sources to buy dubias but no one and I mean no one will ship then to Hawaii. I am sure they are not allowed in period. That is why I am going to try and breed what is already here.
