Handling a veiled

Hi, we just bought a baby veiled and he's about 4-6 inches long with tail, maybe 4-6 months but I'm not surer we've been trying to hold him and I know it's not recommended to hold them early on, but the other chams at the pet store were as small as him, and the worker there held them just fine... He just back into a corner and it seems almost impossible to hold him. Any help would be appreciated.

Leave him be. He needs to settle in to his new home. I wouldn't recommend any handling for at least a week or so. Feed, mist and watch from a distance. Be patient and maybe in a few days or so you can offer him food from your hand. Some don't always take to this. If he backs away, you back away and try the next day.
Check out the caresheets for any more info. And welcome to the forums.

Give it time trust me, I have the same one and she was mean at first. I just took time and bribed her with treats, make sure your cham sees your hand when you put in food. That really worked on my cham and I would just put my hand in their BUT did not touch her just like touch the vines and leafs then pull out to show her I was not a predator. Hope this helped good luck.

He's been with me for about a month now

I e had mine for five months and he still does not want me touching him. I got him when he was already 6-7 months. Buy I would recommend taking it slow as well. Especially if he's young you don't want to scare or stress him early on. Stress can kill them.
