How often do they poop?

I have a baby male veiled (~8wks) and I was wondering how often he is supposed to do his "duty" each day?

I am only asking because I have had him for about 3 weeks, and I clean his cage every week, and when I cleaned this morning, I only noticed maybe 3-4different poop spots.

Is that normal for 1 week? He eats ~5 crix a day right now.

You should be feeding him more than that at this stage of his life. I dont own a veiled but my panthers and jacksons ate 10 to 15 or more right sized feeders.

That is not what Mike at FL Chams told me. I bought it from him, he said it should only be eating 4-5 1/4" crix per day right now, and he'll eat more as he gets older, is this incorrect information?

When I first got him, I listened to you guys and put 10 in there each day, and each night I ended up with a bunch left over at night, but I noticed he only eats 5-6 a day right now.

I've had my baby boy (8wks) for 3 days right now and each day I've put about 6-10 pinhead crickets in the cup and when I get home they're gone! I was so happy today when i got home I went straight to look at him and he was standing on the brim of the cup and all the feeders were gone! Woohoo . O, and there was poopie! lol yay :)

I am using 1/4" crix, a little bigger, so 6-10 pin heads is like 4-8 1/4" crix.

some of them were bigger than pinheads, like double the size. But at the pet store they sell them as pinheads, u know?

Ahh yeah, I know what you mean, pinheads at the store often vary in size greatly, espically from petsmart, I asked for the smallest ones they had and they threw in a few big ass ones, I was pissed.

I just oder mine online now, they all come the exact same size pretty much.

I hope mine will learn to cup feed!

What kind of cup should I use? I have a empty water cup from mcdonalds, like 16oz (4" tall) would that work or will they get out?

I put mine in a chilis kids cup. Try using plastic, b/c when you mist the paper cups might tear or get soft enough that maybe ur baby cham can bite on it or something.

Thanks, I didn't think about the the whole paper cup thing, so I will look for a plastic cup, I might just have to go to chili's and order off the kids menu! :D

Lucky! I have no siblings, and I don't know any kids, so I guess I am ordering off the kiddie menu! :D

I think I might have a plastic cup in my kitchen, but not sure if it is small enough, I might use a tupperware if I have too.

when i used to cup feed mine would do this. he would sit there and look at me like, "when are you going to fill my goodie basket up again, im hungrey"
every morning he would be waiting there.

I don't believe you can over feed them at this age.
daily poop is normal at this age.
I would clean it out every day.
