You have to understand for the ones that really know their stuff, its frustrating to see peoples problems when those problems are just the easiest to fix if you do all your research before your get your animal. You should always read up on the animal your getting no matter how much you think you know. I have stressed and have been stressded to read up on on especially chameleons, your trying to mimic this animals enviroment thats accross the world for some of us. And this is a computer its hard to feel peoples attitudes completely threw a computer, it might not be an asshole attitude like you may think, but a concerned person trying to get you and your animal on the right path. This web site is set up to where alot of times you dont need to ask people for help there, is a perfectly good search bar that you can use that will pull up all the forums that are related to your subject.

this site was highly recommended to us when my boyfriend got his cham, its suppose to be very informative and what so special about it we can asked questions about cham with other cham owner( am i right or am i wrong). None of us start an expert about cham ,,we all started from the beginning and learned from the mistake we made along the way,,, For somebody to judge a beginner cause he did not do this ,did not do that!!!! or you should have done this or done that is just wrong.....do you really think that if his an expert an know what he was doing ,,,he would asked anybodys help,,, common now,,, What im trying to say is that ... new cham owners that comes here an asked for expert help really do need help or advice from you so called expert.... why cant you be nice and give your expert advice ,,,just sayin,,

Justdgf, I get what you mean, but there's a difference between asking a couple questions to fill in some of your knowledge gaps and diving into pet ownership blind and just expect us to do the work for them. I, and a lot of others, did a lot of research before we got our chameleons, and while I did have a few questions afterwards, I wasn't doing anything wrong. So that's what gets really frustrating for people that have been on this forum a while, the people that come into this with 0 research beforehand.

But it's so commendable to realize that these petstores are useless and make a great effort to fix everything. I can only speak for myself, but while I would never not give help and advice to help the life of owner and chameleon, I can't say that I don't get frustrated sometimes. I make a serious effort to stay friendly and helpful, but that 1% of the time... So I appologize if I came off rough.

@ Olimpia i completely agree with you about the petstore knowledge about cham, my bf first cham died a week after he got it. He research everything that needs to have and done ,,, but sadly trusted a petco associate telling him its okay to put pedro d 1st in a glass cage not to mention bought everything they recommended .... it was a stupid mistake but we both learned from it....Now he got another vieled chameleon pedro 2nd since july ...,,, he got everything right this time,,,from the cage to lighting , food ,vitamin ...after talking to the vet and more research...Chris love his buddy pedro who i learned to adore,,, mind u pedro likes me :D he let me pet him lol,,he hiss at my bf.... sometimes,,,but his beginning to relax when Chris is around specially when we take him outside, then pedro would let chris handle him...Ur right about doing ur research before getting a chameleon,,,its not easy to raise one specially if you dont have the patient and knowledge in what your doing,,,but we all have to understand some people just dont like to read lol they like to be told what to do...with that being said im glad im a member im learning a lot everytime i log on,,,
