Hello I just brought home a baby chameleon from the pet store. The girl at the store sold me a call in one stated kit. It was eating find for the first two days then it just stopped. We found the undigested mill works at the bottom of the cage. My wife and kids are very worried please help!

Mealworms arnt a good food for baby chams. They have a hard exoskeleton and are hard to digest. They should only be used as a treat once in a while for bigger chams that can digest them. Do you know if he threw up the mealworms or pooed them out? Have you tried giving him small crickets?

Also I was told that a water dish is unnecessary because they drink water from the leaves.
have you been feeding him lots of mealworms? please send pictures of the enclosure and chameleon. my case would be impaction (from the information i have now)

Ran to the store and picked up some very small crickets. He's eatting like a pig now. Thanks lennoncham

Just make sure you keep an eye on him for the next few days to see if he's pooping. As everygreen said he may have an impaction. It's a good idea to fill out the how to ask for help form as kinyonga said so we can let you know if there's something else you might want to change.

Don't get why people refuse to fill out the form. Not to be mean, but if that takes too long for someone to do, they probably shouldn't own an animal. The fact you got it from a pet store and "the girl sold you an all in one" probably warrants filling out the form and fixing a few things. If not, it's likely you'll be on here in the coming days/months/weeks asking what's wrong with your cham only to have it die soon after like soooo many others. seriously, without this forums help myself and most others would be making mistake after mistake so i'm not trying to put you or anyone else down.

Well said. I manage a saltwater aquarium store, and it really is sad to see the amount of people who want to buy, buy, buy; only do research later when said animal is struggling/dying. Also not bashing OP but sounds to me like the pet store you bought the cham from is of no help and would suggest finding a reputable reptile store for future local help.

Rigsbro...just because your chameleon is eating now doesn't mean it will stay healthy if you aren't doing things right....which is why it's a good idea to answer the questions in the how to ask for help thread in the health forum. We can tell you now if there are things you need to correct so maybe you won't be posting in a while about your chameleon being sick for real. It's up to you.
