that sucks... What about the seller?
He should have insured the shipment i guess...

Wow! Unless it asked you to pay extra for shipping insurance cost I would say either the seller, or the currier would be held reliable. Looks like it's time for small claims court to me if you can't get the seller to make good on it. They hired the currier therefore making it their responsibility to make it right. Then they can go after the currier themselves to recoup their losses. Those glass terrariums are expensive especially one that size can't blame you for being pissed.

It was a bargain at £230 thats why i got it. Thing is we arranged the courier an knew they didnt insure for glass. I assumed they would be careful and it would be ok. How wrong was i? If we dont get any joy with the courier were gonna try get money back via the credit card. Dunno if that will work? Im so angry. Just a little care an it would have been fine

My screen cage arrived very beat up even though I requested a "fragile" sticker and whatnot. Fortunately everything inside was fine except for a little piece that connected to the hinges. I was able to make things work but still was a PITA. I wish you luck in getting another enclosure. Someone should be held responsible, that's just plain disrespectful to mishandle something so fragile and expensive.

It was a used cage an he had specified collection only but he was a 4 hr drive away. I asked would he send by courier an he said yes if we arranged the courier

If you dont want to deal with all that headache I suggest just going to get some window screen and just replace the glass with it. Window screen is cheap and easy to install. So much better airflow. Also don't use the water dish in the pic, use a dripper instead. Had one in my enclosure for two days and got rid of it. Also live plants if those aren't already. I didn't see a second bulb in that setup as well (missing the uvb or heat bulb). Just thought I'd throw my two cents in.

Thank you for your reply. I welcome everyones in put. I intended getting real plants an i dont see a second bulb either. I havent upacked it yet as im here alone an am terrified the glass will all fall out on me.
Could i use the window screen for the bottom of it? Im thinking it wont work for the doors as they were glass sliding 1s.
Where do you buy the window screen. An how do u fit it? Sorry my partners not into diy lol. My son is a glazier but im waiting for him to come look at it an im soooo impatient i want it fixed yesterday lol xx

Pic taken from top of tank looking down. This was sent with all the extras just loose inside. What a joke!

Wow, that's terrible! The whole deal sounded like an accident waiting to happen. The seller first stated "pick up only" on a used item so obviously wasn't ready or willing to do anything unless you came and got it yourself. You chose to ship it. The courier didn't ensure for glass but you chose the company knowing this (I assume). Yes, the seller should have at least boxed the cage to transport it, and yes, the courier should have taken basic care of glass, but I doubt you'll see anything from anyone. Live and learn unfortunately!
