Got my baby rudis today!

Today we received our baby rudis chameleon, Reptar! I wanted to share our first picture of him. He is so perfect and adorable! I wish I could hold him more but I'm sure he's stressed out, so he's chilling in his cage.

I believe that actual rudis chameleons aren't available in the United States right now, so he's probably technically a trioceros sternfeldi. Either way, he's so awesome! Just thought I'd share

How old is he? Pretty tiny.

Yes, he's much smaller than we expected. They said he was 1.5 months old.

We had some small crickets ready for him when he came, but we're wondering if even those are too big for him. He hasn't eaten yet today, but I'm sure he's stressed too.

What do you feed your babies? The smallest crickets you can find? How can I make sure he finds them in his cage?

My oldest babies are twice that size so they are able to eat anything up to around 1/4". I give them 1/4" crickets, house and blue bottle flies, aphids, small meal worms, wild leaf hoppers and cabbage moth larva when I have time to collect them in the garden.

I got him from backwater reptiles.com, but Carl also has some for sale. Thanks for the help everyone I think he's less stressed today. I've left him alone so he can get used to his cage.

Hallie316, I just got my baby rudis today from backwater reptiles as well... so fruit flies re what you are feeding him and he's eaten them? i had tiny mealworms but quickly decided they were way to big.

It is more than likely a trioceros Sternfeldi.
What are you using for an enclosure? Do you have a misting system? And what are you using for lighting ?
I would also suggest reading fauna classifieds board of inquiry on the company you bought from
