Floyd is a young panther chameleon. I was only told he was a panther and male.
I have had him for almost 2 weeks, here are a few pictures of him :D

Floyd looks great, Congrats! I love the name. What a sweet face!

Under those lights, he looks like a pink Floyd :D

Just wondering though, is he under a red heat lamp? If so, you can ditch that, it shouldn't be part of his setup. He just needs a regular incandescent house bulb for basking (about 85 degrees at his age) and a UVB bulb like a reptisun 5.0.

Welcome to the forums! Keep sharing pics as he grows, looking forward to seeing more of him :)

Yes he is, I live in Canada and my basement is freezing. I keep the red light on to make sure he doesnt get too cold as my room can go down into the 50F range.

I would suggest using a heat emitter like this one:

Chameleons need absolute darkness at night or they will not sleep well, leading to a host of problems.

Panthers can take temps down into the low 50's at night and a temp drop is actually good for their metabolism.

250 watts seems really intense? I will look into those, thanks :)

You are right, 250w is too intense, good catch. They make these things in lesser wattage. However, as long as the temps stay above 50, don't worry about it.

Didn't mean to take the focus away from Floyd :)

He is adorable, I got him to eat a cricket out of my hand yesterday. Also, whenever I play guitar he quickly walks over to the closest leaf and watches me. :D
