Please help

I agree with doing a shower a day for awhile. Sometimes it takes a long time for them to get the idea it's okay to drink.

Does your cage have drainage? If not, that's probably something we want to work on. Having good drainage frees you to mist for a really long time. If you can get it totally raining in the cage, that sometimes triggers the "drink" instinct.

I really recommend a sprayer like this:

I find it much easier than any of the other non-automatic things I've tried and it lets me mist for a really long time without strain on my old lady wrists and elbows. And, no water drips down my arm!

Yep his cage has a chicken wire bottom. Its sits on a deep saucer so yeah the drainage is good. Ill have to look into getting one of those misters. They look fantastic. And ok I can get him a shower every day.

Excellent. You might look into getting a rubber storage drawer, cutting a hole in the top and setting the cage on that. Then you just have to pull out the drawer to empty the water.

I bought my sprayer in the garden department at Wal Mart. I tried the kind where it's a bottle and you pump it up, then spray. The mist is great but it was too hard on my wrists to keep a full bottle of water held above my head, plus, the bottle seemed to leak. I bought a battery powered one that seemed to work great, but had the same problem of being hard on my wrists (stupid carpal tunnel!). This way, I'm not holding anything heavy above my head.

Wow that is a GREAT idea! Oh my lord why havent I thought of that. Ok that I will definately do. Its killer trying to empty that saucer I have under his cage. I always make a mess. Ok walmart has the sprayers? I hope they still have them in stock at this time of year. Or I guess I could order one online. Very cool! Thank you!

I went today and tried to find silkworms with no luck. I got him meal worms and he is not even looking at them. I got him some crickets too. Forgot about the dusting powder because when I went to the light section there were signs everywhere that said there is a problem with the company and all the bulbs were gone! Wth?

Also a girl that was working there told me I could just use a regular indoor light bulb. So I didnt ask her anymore questions. Lol ill get online and get him the light he needs. Would it help him if I put him in front of a sealed window with no draft? That way he could get some sun. Please dont laugh I thought maybe it could be good for him.

You can actually use a regular houselight bulb as a basking light. I'm not sure if your glass would let the UVB of the sun though though. Mealworms have a sort of hard shell and aren't very nutricious, so if he likes them they're a treat once in awhile.

The household incandescent can, as Karma says, be used for heat, but then you need that UVB tube. I'm still not convinced that the bulb you have doesn't provide UVB. I'm going to send you a PM with a question about that bulb.

Here in San Diego, WalMart always has good garden sections, but I suppose there are parts of the country where they close up shop for the most part to make room for Christmas stuff.

You can certainly order a sprayer from WalMart.com and have it shipped to your local WalMart for free. You should also be able to get one of the storage drawers there. They show up all the time on sale. You might even want to get a 3 drawer set, use the top drawer for drainage, store the ever growing collection of chameleon supplies in the other 2!

UVB does not go through glass. There are some forms of plexiglass that let it through, but they are not the norm. However, he might enjoy the extra light being near the window provides. I always open the shutters next to my cages during the day to let extra light into the room.

If it's warm during the day and he can spend some time outdoors, that would work.

Ok the print on the bulb I HAVE says zoo med 75w 120v item sl75 min poland away from that is an n over a 1b . I just found the writing on it. I thought that girl might have been the same one advising people to get their cham a friend. Lol

Well done for taken on a rescue, he's a lucky boy. Its good your asking for help and taken on board the advice you've been given im sure you'll have him sorted in no time!

Welcome to the forum! :D

Thanks. Today after giving eddie a shower he went to the bottom of his cage and is not coming up to the top. :( im so worried. The water didnt touch him just the mist and I put some more plants in his cage for him. He seems weak.

Can we have some pics of him on the bottom? Also, did you buy a UVB light yet? If you bought a weird one by mistake sometimes I've seen them try to escape from it.

Ok so he was like this for about 4 hours this morning and just now after I took there pics he started climbing up. He is in the middle of his cage right now.

Do you think I should put his purple night light in? Does that have ubv at all? Oh my lord im freaking out! He is at the top under his light right now.

He was almost to the top and fell about half way down again. Oh my god this is torture to watch. :c

How regularly is he actually falling? Can you make his branches more secure and/or easier for him to get around?
